Vishnu Purana- The Book of The Lord. What Can We Learn from This Book?

One of the 18 Mahapuranas that extensively detail the 10 Maha Vishnu avatars is the Vishnu Purana. In the Vaishnava tradition, it is a significant Purana. It reveals how Srinivasa Vishnu created the world and how Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva are one with him.

Creator of Vishnu Purana:

When the father of Parashar, the father of sage Vyasa, the author of Vishnu Purana, was killed by the demons, Parashara, in anger, started a yajna for the destruction of the demons. Thousands of demons fell into it and started getting destroyed. On this, Pulsat Rishi, father of the demons, and Vasishtha, the grandfather of Parashar, explained to Parashar that he had stopped this Yagya. Due to this, Pulsat Rishi was very pleased and blessed Parasharji to be the author of Vishnu Purana.

We have listened to the stories of Lord Krishna’s childhood. One famous tale is that once, Balarama complained to Yashoda that Krishan was eating soil. Mother Yashoda asked Krishna to open his mouth to check that he was eating clay, and Lord Krishna opened his mouth, and Yashoda saw the whole universe in his mouth.

This story teaches us that age is just a number, not proof of your wisdom. Sometimes a kid can teach you an important thing. Then the one who is teaching is the bigger one, and the one who is learning is small. It’s not about age.

Once, there was a pooja held in Vrindavan. A lot of prasad was being prepared to please God. Lord Krishan and his friends had just returned from work, and they were tired and hungry.

Shri Krishna asked his friends to ask the priests for food, but the priests would not agree to give the food because it was being prepared for God. But the priest’s wife gave them food. After seeing the true emotions of the priests’ wives, Lord Krishna was happy, and the Yagya was successful.

The Vishu Purana is filled with stories of Lord Krishna. Through his stories, Lord Krishna teaches us important lessons about humanity, positivity, and leadership. The Yamuna is the lifeline of Vrindavan. A snake called Kalia had taken control of this river, and his venom was mixed with the drinking water.

But Lord Krishna fights with that venomous snake and makes him leave the Yamuna. Kaliya Nartana Krishna is the famous statue of Lord Krishna dancing on Kalia’s hood.

Lord Krishna does not even think about himself. What if the snake bit him? He just dived into the Yamuna to fight with Kalia.

This is the quality of a great leader. Negativity and positivity have a weird connection. Sometimes, while staying with negative people, the most positive people will start thinking negatively. But a true leader, even in very adverse conditions, does not abandon his/her team and never thinks negatively. He always thinks positively.
